The Pakistan Institute for Parliamentary Services Oarganized a three-day In-House Hands-On training on Artificial Intelligence (AI) covering ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot for the reporters of the Punjab Assembly Secretariat which commenced on December 03rd, 2025 till December 05th, 2025 at the Punjab Assembly Secretariat, Lahore.
The day began with a warm welcome after the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a programme overview. The first day centered on the practical use of ChatGPT for structured writing, and political analysis, enabling reporters to understand how AI can enhance clarity, accuracy, and speed in parliamentary reporting. Participants learned to summarize bills, rewrite press releases, and generate interview questions using AI-driven prompt engineering. Hands-on activities included drafting AI-assisted news briefs and conducting peer reviews of generated content to improve quality and reliability.
The first day session equipped reporters with a strong foundational understanding of Artificial Intelligence and its applications in parliamentary communication, demonstrating how generative AI can support informed, efficient, and data-driven reporting. The active curiosity and engagement of the participants set a positive and forward-looking tone for the remainder of the training.
